AUTHORIZE RFP: PROFESSIONAL MARKETING AND ADVERTISING SERVICES IN\nSUPPORT OF THE CITY’S ORGANIC RECYCLING COLLECTION AND FOOD\nRECOVERY PROGRAMS – F2M24-49, RFP2M24-11\nThe City launched the “Alhambra Recycles” campaign in 2023, a comprehensive and\nmultilingual outreach campaign to provide public information on SB 1383 requirements.\nOn April 22, 2024, the City Council accepted a grant in the amount of $218,610.00 from\nthe Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) under the SB 1383\nLocal Assistance Grant Program. Staff received approval from CalRecycle to use $60,000\nin Local Assistance Grant funds to develop and implement a multi-media marketing and\nadvertising plan to disseminate information on organic recycling and food recovery to\ngreater communities. Staff seeks to solicit proposals from qualified consultants with\nprofessional expertise and experience to provide the City with digital and print advertising;\nmarketing services to reach Alhambra’s diverse community; and additional “Alhambra\nRecycles” campaign material.\nRecommended Action: City Council authorize the distribution of Request for\nProposals (RFP) to qualified consultants to provide professional marketing and advertising\nservices in support of the City’s organic recycling collection and food recovery programs\nin accordance with SB 1383; and, direct staff to undertake the steps necessary to finalize\nthe Council’s action.
