10. NOTICE OF COMPLETION: 2023 ALLEY REHABILITATION PROJECT (AREA A /\nPHASE I) – F2M23-67, C2M24-2, M2M24-93\nOn January 8, 2024, the City Council awarded a contract for the 2023 Alley Rehabilitation\nProject (Area A / Phase I) to Kalban Inc in the amount of $1,043,640.00. One change\norder was issued for a total amount of $149,620.95. The change order included two\nadditional alternate alleys. The total cost of the project was $1,193,260.95. This project\nhas been inspected by staff and all work has been completed in accordance with the City’s\nrequirements and specifications. As such, it would be appropriate for the City Council to\naccept this project as complete and instruct that the Notice of Completion be filed with the\nCounty of Los Angeles Recorder’s Office.\nRecommended Action: City Council accept the work of Kalban Inc. for the 2023\nAlley Rehabilitation Project (Area A / Phase I) as complete in the amount of $1,193,260.95;\ndirect the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion with the County of Los Angeles for\nrecordation; instruct the Finance Director to release the 5% retention 35 days from the\ndate of recordation if no liens are filed; and, direct staff to undertake the steps necessary\nto finalize Council’s action.
