6.D. CONSIDERATION TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF ALLOWABLE\nSPECIAL EVENTS AND ACTIVATIONS AND TO CHANGE WHAT\nACTIVITIES ARE CONSIDERED SPECIAL EVENTS OR ACTIVATIONS\n[J. HEILMAN, Y. QUARKER, A. LOVANO, J. DEL TORO]:\nSUBJECT: The City Council will consider directing staff and the City\nAttorney to draft an ordinance increasing the number of special events\nand activations allowed per year and directing staff to change what\nactivities are considered special events or activations.\nRECOMMENDATIONS: 1) Direct staff and the City Attorney to draft an\nordinance to increase the number of allowable special events and\nactivations in the City’s municipal code; 2) Direct staff to change policy\nwith respect to those activities which are considered special events or\nactivations as described in the staff report; and 3) Direct staff to research\nthe appropriate increase and return to the City Council with a draft\nordinance for further consideration.
