13. RENEWAL OF MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH THE ALHAMBRA\nUNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT (AUSD) FOR SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICERS FOR FY\n2024-25 – F2M20-57, C2M20-37, M2M24-52\nBoth the Alhambra Police Department and AUSD believe that the continuation of the\nSchool Resource Officer (SRO) Program will further the goal of maintaining a safe school\nenvironment for students and staff. The existing Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)\nwith AUSD for an SRO Program expires on June 30, 2024. Renewing this MOU provides\npolice officers to the District during the academic school year calendar through June 30,\n2025. AUSD will reimburse the City for services in an amount not to exceed $433,530.40\nannually.\nRecommended Action: City Council approve that certain Renewal of Memorandum\nof Understanding 2024-2025 with the Alhambra Unified School District on file in the City\nClerk’s Office as Contract No. C2M20-37 to continue the School Resource Officer\nProgram for Fiscal Year 2024-25; authorize the Chief of Police to execute the Renewal of\nthe Memorandum of Understanding; and, direct staff to undertake the steps necessary to\nfinalize Council’s action.
