C. Approval of First Amendment to Interim City Engineer’s\nEmployment Agreement as a Retired Annuitant Position In\nCity Engineer due to the resignation of the previous City\nEngineer. On November 14, 2023, the City Council\nauthorized the City Manager to appoint Mr. Albert Leung as a\nRetired Annuitant to the position of City Engineer as\nauthorized per California Government Code Sections 7522.56\nand 21221(h). The recruitment is ongoing, but the position\nremains vacant. Therefore, staff is requesting an extension\nto Mr. Albert Leung’s agreement for FY 2024-25 until the\npermanent City Engineer position is filled.\nRecommendation: That the City Council amend the Interim City\nEngineer's Agreement with Mr. Albert Leung to extend the term\nand hourly rate of a Retired Annuitant position per California\nGovernment Code Sections 7522.56 and 21221(h) and adopt\nResolution No. 2024-34, entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY\nCOUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD APPROVING THE\nFIRST AMENDMENT TO THE INTERIM CITY ENGINEER'S\nRETIRED ANNUITANT EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT\nStaff Report
