G. APPROVAL OF FISCAL YEAR 2024-2025 FIRE DEPARTMENT SUPPLIES AND\nEQUIPMENT OPEN PURCHASE ORDERS OF UP TO BUDGETED AMOUNTS\n$84,210 AND $65,000\nThe San Gabriel Fire Department, during daily operations, maintains a supply\nof expendable items and durable equipment to fulfil its mission. Open purchase\norders, renewed each Fiscal Year (FY) are used to keep the Department stocked\nwith personal protective equipment, paramedic, and firefighting supplies,\ndelivered on an as-needed basis. Vendors, reviewed regularly, are selected\nthrough competitive bid, piggyback and cooperative purchasing agreements.\nParamedic and Firefighting equipment and supplies are budgeted for FY 2024-\n2025 as line items in the amount of $84,210 (Emergency Medical Service\nSupplies) and $65,000 (Personal Protective Equipment). Allocation for these\npurchases is made from the 121-761-00-21-000 account and are fully funded\nin the adopted budget.\nCalifornia Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Determination: Not a Project as\ndefined in Section 15378 of the State CEQA Guidelines.\nRecommended Action:\nStaff recommends that the City Council authorize the issuance of open\npurchase orders of up to the budgeted amounts of $84,210 for Life Assist, Inc.\nand of up to the budgeted amount of $65,000 to Municipal Emergency Services.\nAll purchases are to be made pursuant to Title III, Section 34.35 of the San\nGabriel Municipal Code, permitting the City to piggyback on a contract or\ncooperative purchasing agreement prepared by and processed through\nanother local, state, or federal government agency.
