VALENCIA COMMUNITY CENTER RECONSTRUCTION AND TENANT\nIMPROVEMENTS - This item considers an award for construction contract for The\nValencia Community Center reconstruction and tenant improvements.\nRECOMMENDED ACTION:\nCity Council:\n1. Approve the plans and specifications for the Valencia Community Center\nReconstruction and Tenant Improvements.\n2. Award a construction contract to Deeb Construction Inc., in the amount of $364,153\nand authorize a contingency in the amount of $72,831, for a total contract amount not\nto exceed $436,984.\n3. Approve the use of a “piggyback” contract for the purchase of replacement doors,\nelectrified and mechanical door hardware from Montgomery Hardware Company,\nthrough the California Multiple Awards Schedule, (CMAS) contract #4-17-84-0059A\nin an amount not to exceed $232,822.\n4. Find the Valencia Community Center Reconstruction and Tenant Improvements\nexempt from review under the California Environmental Quality Act pursuant to Title\n14 of the California Code of Regulations, Article 19, Section 15301.\n5. Authorize the City Manager or designee to execute all documents, subject to City\nAttorney approval.
