9. ACCEPTANCE OF GRANT FUNDS FROM THE SAN GABRIEL VALLEY COUNCIL OF\nGOVERNMENTS (SGVCOG) FOR HOMELESS SERVICES – F2M24-18, M2M24-113\nThe SGVCOG entered into a contract with the County of Los Angeles for Measure H\nfunding for homeless services in support of the County’s Homeless Initiative (HI) strategies\nto combat homelessness in the San Gabriel Valley. The SGVCOG Board recently\nallocated $60,000 for FY 2024-2025 from Measure H funds to support Alhambra’s needs,\nincluding supplementing existing homelessness programs, outreach, and services to\nhard-to-reach populations. On October 9, 2023, the City Council accepted funds and\nauthorized a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the City and the SGVCOG to\nset the terms of ongoing collaboration with respect to addressing homelessness in\nAlhambra. This first Amendment to the MOA extends the term to June 30, 2025, and\nprovides for the $60,000 allocated to be used for continued outreach in FY 2024-25.\nRecommended Action: City Council authorize an Amendment to the Memorandum\nof Agreement with the San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments Grant in the amount of\n$60,000 for homeless outreach, housing navigator and case management services and\nemergency housing/shelter placement; authorize the City Manager to sign the\nAmendment to the Memorandum of Agreement; appropriate grant revenue and\nexpenditure funds in the amount of $60,000; and, direct staff to undertake the steps\nnecessary to finalize Council’s action.
