7. APPOINTMENTS TO THE 710 TERMINUS REGIONAL PLANNING TASK FORCE PER\nSB 710 (DURAZO) – F2M23-19, M2M24-118\nOn June 26, 2024, the City received notice of Caltrans and Senator Durazo’s intent to kick\noff the 710 Terminus Regional Planning Task Force. Pursuant to SB 710 (Durazo), the bill\nrequires the establishment of a Task Force for the purposes of completing a report to the\nCalifornia Legislature on the issues of traffic and potential land use related to the State\nRoute 710 Terminus adjacent areas, as defined. The Task Force, which includes\nrepresentatives from Alhambra, Los Angeles (90032), the County of Los Angeles, Cal\nState University Los Angeles, Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority,\na business or workforce entity, a community-based organization, and Caltrans, shall meet\non a quarterly basis. By December 1, 2025, the Task Force shall complete and submit a\nreport to the Legislature, and provide an update on Alhambra’s 710 Arterial Project. As\npart of the process, community engagement is expected. Based on Alhambra’s overall\nhistory and interests in relation to the 710 Terminus including the City’s proposal for an\narterial conversion, staff is recommending the Council select one Councilmember and one\nCity staff member to sit on this committee.\nRecommended Action: City Council approve the selection of one Councilmember\nand one City staff member to represent the City of Alhambra on the 710 Terminus\nRegional Planning Task Force per SB 710; and, direct staff as deemed appropriate.\n(M2M24-118)
