6. DECISION APPROVAL AND NOTICE INVITING BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF\nALHAMBRA PLACEMAKING SIGNAGE – F2M24-51, F2M24-33, N2M24-89, M2M24-\n114\nAs part of the adopted 2024 Strategic Plan, staff has worked with the Arts & Cultural\nEvents Commission to discuss “Place Making Centers” throughout the City. Staff is\nrecommending placement at three park locations. The suggested locations are Granada\nPark, Alhambra Park, and Almansor Park. On June 19, 2024, the Arts & Cultural Events\nCommission approved the “Alhambra” placemaking signs to be a part of a photo\nopportunity campaign throughout the City. These signs will be created to inspire residents\nand visitors to visit various Alhambra sites. People will be encouraged to snap a picture\nand post it on social media, enjoy a picnic, or take in the views. The signs are\napproximately 16 feet long by 8 feet tall. Specifications and bid documentation have been\ncompleted for the Alhambra Placemaking Sign Project.\nRecommended Action: City Council approve the design concept; authorize the\ncirculation of a Notice Inviting Bids to purchase three Alhambra Placemaking signs; and,\ndirect staff to undertake the steps necessary to finalize the Council’s action.
