NOTICE OF COMPLETION: ASBESTOS ABATEMENT AT THE FORMER LIBRARY\nSATELLITE BUILDING – 2025 SOUTH FREMONT AVENUE – F2M24-23, C2M24-23,\nM2M24-115\nOn April 8, 2024, the City Council awarded a contract to Resource Environmental Inc. in\nthe amount of $22,000.00 to abate asbestos from the former Satellite Library building\nlocated at 2025 South Fremont Avenue. There were no change orders associated with\nthis project. Staff has inspected this project, and all work has been completed in\naccordance with the City’s requirements and specifications. As such, it would be\nappropriate for the City Council to accept this project as complete.\nRecommended Action: City Council accept the work of Resource Environmental\nInc. for the abatement of asbestos at the former Library satellite building at 2025 South\nFremont Avenue as complete in the amount of $22,000; direct the City Clerk to file a Notice\nof Completion with the County of Los Angeles for recordation; instruct the Finance Director\nto release the 5 percent retention 35 days from the date of recordation if no liens are filed;\nand, direct staff to undertake the steps necessary to finalize Council’s action.
