12. CONSIDERATION OF A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF\nSOUTH PASADENA APPROVING THE PURCHASE AND SALE AGREEMENTS WITH\nTHE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE\nPURCHASE OF FIVE UNOCCUPIED SURPLUS HISTORIC PROPERTIES (216\nFAIRVIEW AVENUE, 217 FREMONT AVENUE, 225 FREMONT AVENUE, 1002, 1008\nHOPE STREET AND 726 MERIDIAN AVENUE AND 1707 MERIDIAN AVENUE) AND\nACCEPTING THE PROPERTY FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION\nPENDING APPROVAL FROM THE CALIFORNIA TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION\nRecommendation\nIt is recommended that the Council consider:\n1. Re-appropriating $243,000 from the FY 2023-24 budget for the acquisition of the six\nhistoric Caltrans homes and;\n2. Adopting the Resolution approving the purchase of the five unoccupied surplus\nhistoric properties from the State of California, Department of Transportation\n4\n(Caltrans) and;\n3. Approve and ratify the executed purchase and sale agreements for such properties\nand accept the properties from Caltrans pending approval from the California\nTransportation Commission.\nACTION/DISCUSSION
