26. CONTRACT AMENDMENT: PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING DESIGN SERVICES\nFOR THE FY 2022-2023 SB1 STREET REHABILITATION PROJECT – F2M22-39,\nC2M22-65, M2M24-155\nOn December 12, 2022, the City Council awarded a contract to West & Associates, Inc.\nto provide assessment and professional design services for the FY 2022-23 SB1 Street\nRehabilitation Project in the amount of $262,500.00. Due to scope changes during the\npreparation of the Plans, Specifications and Estimates, including portions of\nCommonwealth Ave., it was determined additional preparation, research and design for\nthe project was necessary to complete the design. This additional prep work was an\nunforeseen change in the work scope originally agreed upon between the City and West\n& Associates, Inc. The additional prep work, including labor, time and material, requires\nan additional amount of $30,000.00. All other provisions of the contract remain\nunchanged.\nRecommended Action: City Council amend the contract with West & Associates,\nInc. (C2M22-65), subject to language review and approval by the City Manager and City\nAttorney for PS&E services for the FY 2022-23 SB1 Street Rehabilitation Project; increase\nthe total amount by $30,000, bringing the total contract amount to $292,500.00; and, direct\nstaff to undertake the steps necessary to finalize Council’s action.
