11. CONTRACT AMENDMENT FOR TRAFFIC SCANNER CERTIFICATION TRAINING –\nF2M24-16, K2M23-378, M2M24-142\nIn November 2023, after a competitive bidding process, a contract (K2M23-378) was\nissued to Faro Technologies, Inc. in the amount of $49,832.20 Faro Technologies, Inc. is\na hardware and software company that provides 3D laser scanning solutions for crime\nscene reconstruction, traffic collision analysis and public safety operations. Currently, staff\nis requesting to increase the contract by $15, 504 for the “Train the Trainer” program. The\nprogram is a five-day training course consisting of two Police Department employees\ntrained to instruct future users on the operation of 3D scanning technology. Alhambra\nPolice can then host classes to continue training employees and assist outside agencies\nthat as use Faro 3D scanning systems.\nRecommended Action: City Council approve an amendment, subject to final\nlanguage approval by the City Manager and City Attorney, to the contract with Faro\nTechnologies, Inc. for traffic scanner certification training in the amount of $15,504 for a\ntotal contract amount not to exceed $65,336.20; authorize the Chief of Police to execute\nsaid amendment; and, direct staff to undertake the steps necessary to finalize Council’s\naction.
