25. AWARD CONTRACT: PROFESSIONAL CONSULTANT SERVICES FOR THE HVAC\nDESIGN AT ALHAMBRA FIRE STATION 71 – F2M22-31, RFP2M24-9, C2M24-53,\nM2M24-154\nOn April 8, 2024, the City Council authorized staff to solicit proposals for professional\ndesign services for the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Upgrade at Alhambra\nFire Station 71. Proposals were due on July 24, 2024 and 4 proposals were received. A\nreview committee evaluated the submitted proposals based on the following – Compliance\nwith RFP Requirements, Project Understanding and Approach, Experience of the Firm on\nSimilar Projects, Experience of Key Personnel, and Level of Effort, Schedule, and Cost\nEffectiveness to Provide Sufficient Services. Advanced Engineered Solutions was\nselected as the most qualified firm. A reference check was conducted, and they were all\nsatisfactory.\nRecommended Action: City Council award contract, subject to final language\napproval by the City Manager and City Attorney, to Advanced Engineered Solutions for\nthe professional design services and bid support and construction oversight for the\nHeating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Upgrade at Alhambra Fire Station 71 for an\namount not to exceed $73,375.00; and, direct staff to undertake the steps necessary to\nfinalize the Council’s action.
