10. AUTHORIZE SITE HOST AGREEMENT WITH EV CHARGING SOLUTIONS, INC., FOR\nTHE REPLACEMENT OF EXISTING ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING STATIONS AT\nTHREE PARKING LOTS IN DOWNTOWN ALHAMBRA – F2M18-16, M2M24-141\nIn November 2019, the City Council awarded a contract to EV Charging Solutions,\nInc. (EVCS) to install eighteen (18) Level 2 EV charging stations. The EV charging\nstations were installed at 103 North Chapel Avenue; 26 North First Street; and 80 South\nFirst Street, with six chargers installed at each location. The existing equipment needs\nreplacement and upgrade to newer, more efficient technology. EVCS prepared a new Site\nHost Agreement for the installation, operation and maintenance of the replacement EV\ncharging stations. EVCS will be responsible for all material and labor costs associated\nwith design, construction, maintenance, and operation of EV charging stations units,\nincluding electricity costs. Additionally, the agreement will generate revenue for the City\nat a rate of $0.05/kilowatt hour per charger, without incurring electricity costs by the City.\nRecommended Action: City Council authorize the City Manager, or designee, to\nexecute a Site Host Agreement with EV Charging Solutions, Inc., to replace the\nexisting electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at three parking lots in downtown\nAlhambra; and, direct staff to undertake the steps necessary to finalize the Council’s\naction.
