CONSIDERATION AND APPROVAL OF RESOLUTION NO. 24-218, TO\nAPPROVE THE CITY SERVICE REQUEST WITH LOS ANGELES\nCOUNTY FOR THE PECK ROAD TRAFFIC SYNCHRONIZATION\nPROJECT ON DURFEE AVENUE FROM RUSH STREET TO THE\nINTERSECTION OF PECK ROAD AND DURFEE AVENUE\nThe Los Angeles County Department of Public Works (LACDPW) is set to\nperform a Traffic Signal Synchronization Project (TSSP) on Peck Road\nfrom Hemlock Street to Workman Mill Road, which is jurisdictionally\nshared among three cities—South El Monte, El Monte, and Industry—and\nthe unincorporated communities of Whittier and Whittier Narrows. Due to\nthe scope and cost of the project, County policy requires a City Service\nRequest to be submitted for the TSSP project. The City of South El\nMonte’s estimated cost share for the project is $86,200.\nRECOMMENDED ACTION: Staff recommends City Council:\n1. Adopt Resolution No. 24-218 to approve submittal of the City\nService Request to the County of Los Angeles, including the project\ncost share of $86,200;\n2. Program $86,200 from the City’s Proposition C Local Return funds\nto cover the City's cost share; and\n3.
