7.l. CONSIDERATION AND APPROVAL OF RESOLUTION NO. 24-219,\nAPPROVING AWARD OF CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT TO GENTRY\nBROTHERS, INC. FOR THE FY 24-25 PAVEMENT REHABILITATION\nPROJECT\nOn July 29, 2024, the Engineering Department solicited bids for the FY 24-\n25 Pavement Rehabilitation Project. The work involves asphalt concrete\nreconstruction/rehabilitation of existing streets, curb & gutter repairs, and\nrestoration of pavement markings and striping on select segments of Rush\nSt, Klingerman St, and Floradale Ave. The lowest responsive bid was\nsubmitted by Gentry Brothers, Inc. in the total bid amount of\n$1,953,040.00.\nRECOMMENDED ACTION: Staff recommends City Council:\n1. Adopt and approve the plans and specifications for the FY 24-25\nPavement Rehabilitation Project;\n2. Adopt and approve Resolution No. 24-219, awarding the FY 24-25\nPavement Rehabilitation Project contract to the lowest responsible\nbidder in an amount of $1,953,040.00 to Gentry Brothers Inc. and\nauthorize the City Manager to execute the contract; and\n3. Authorize 10% of the total contract amount as contingency\nallowance to be used if necessary for unforeseen conditions at the\nCity Manager’s discretion.
