K. UPFIT OF A FIRE DEPARTMENT STAFF VEHICLE IN THE AMOUNT OF\n$32,984.60\nThe San Gabriel Fire Department, as part of its emergency response fleet,\nmaintains a vehicle for the Fire Chief to use for emergency response, and official\nbusiness. As the demand for Fire Department services increases and major\nincidents require greater command oversight, staff has developed a plan to\nincrease the response capacity of the Fire Chief vehicle to include basic Incident\nCommand capability, at a cost substantially less than the acquisition and build\nof a second dedicated Command Vehicle. This project has a cost of $32,984.60,\nCity Council Regular Meeting Agenda – September 17, 2024 7\nwhile the cost to acquire and equip a dedicated command vehicle is over\n$210,000. Funding for the project will come from the General Fund Fire\nDepartment budget, and although not a specific purchase at the time of budget\ncreation, existing allocations are sufficient to complete this project.\nCalifornia Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Determination: Not a Project as\ndefined in Section 15378 of the State CEQA Guidelines.\nRecommended Action:\nStaff recommends that the City Council approve the issuance of a purchase\norder in the amount of $32,984.60 to 911 Vehicle, Incorporated for the upfit\nproject.
