I. FIVE-YEAR SERVICE AGREEMENT FOR DISPATCH SERVICES WITH\nVERDUGO FIRE COMMUNICATIONS\nThe San Gabriel Fire Department has utilized Verdugo Fire Communications\nCenter for dispatch services since 2000. As the last Service Agreement expired\non June 30, 2024, the Fire Department requests approval of a new, five-year\nagreement for Dispatch Services. The proposal is a five-year agreement with\nthe provision for two, three-year extensions. The City of San Gabriel pays $84.18\nper incident dispatched (regardless of many units respond) and for Fiscal Year\n2024-2025, the total cost is estimated to be $229,135.00 based on an estimate\ncall volume of 2,722 unique incidents. An increase of 5% per year is assumed\nand part of the contract, although as more cities have come into Verdugo, this\nincrease has not been implemented in the past two fiscal years. Funding for\nCity Council Regular Meeting Agenda – September 17, 2024 6\nthese services will come from the General Fund Fire Department budget and\nare included in the adopted Fiscal Year 2024-2025 operating budget.\nCalifornia Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Determination: Not a Project as\ndefined in Section 15378 of the State CEQA Guidelines.\nRecommended Action:\nStaff recommends that the City Council authorize the City Manager and Fire\nChief to execute the Verdugo Fire Communications Service Agreement.
