13. AUTHORIZE RFP: PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION\nSERVICES FOR THE SEWER MAIN REPLACEMENT PROJECT ON GLENAVEN\nAVENUE, ORANGE GROVE AVENUE, MIDWICK DRIVE, LA GOLONDRINA AVENUE\nAND ROSS AVENUE – F2M24-64, RFP2M24-23\nThe Sewer Master Plan identified the Sewer Replacement Project on Glenaven Avenue\n(from Glen View Dr. to Orange Grove Ave.), Orange Grove Avenue (from Glenaven Ave.\nto Midwick Dr.), Midwick Drive (from Orange Grove Ave. to West of Ramona Terrace),\nand at La Golondrina Avenue, and Ross Avenue as deficient in capacity. The existing 12-\ninch pipe is expected to be surcharged during existing and ultimate peak wet weather\nconditions. A portion will be surcharged during existing and ultimate peak dry weather\nconditions. The Master Plan recommends replacement of the existing sewer main with a\nlarger diameter sewer main. As part of the City of Alhambra’s ongoing Capital\nImprovement Program, this project will provide engineering design, plans, and preparation\nof bid specifications for the replacement of approximately 2,525 feet of existing 12-inch\nsewer main with a larger capacity sewer main.\nRecommended Action: City Council approve the distribution of a Request for\nProposals (RFP) for Professional Engineering Design and Construction Services for the\nSewer Replacement Project on Glenaven Avenue, Orange Grove Avenue, Midwick Drive,\nLa Golondrina Avenue and Ross Avenue, with project proposals due no later than 4:00\np.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2024; and, direct staff to undertake the steps necessary to\nfinalize the Council’s action.
