11. REJECT BIDS RECEIVED AND AUTHORIZE A NEW NOTICE INVITING BIDS FOR\nTHE DESIGN AND PURCHASE OF ALHAMBRA PLACEMAKING SIGNAGE – F2M24-\n51, N2M24-89, N2M24-117, M2M24-172\nOn July 22, 2024, the City Council approved the circulation of a Notice Inviting Bids for\nthe Design and Purchase of Alhambra Placemaking Signage. On August 15, 2024, the\nCity Clerk opened the two bids received. The lowest bid did not demonstrate that it would\nprovide contract work that amounted to at least 51 percent of the contract price. The\nsecond bid far exceeded the project budget. Therefore, staff is recommending rejecting\nboth bids received for this project. Specifications and bid documentation for the Design\nand Purchase of Alhambra Placemaking Signage will be recirculated and made available\non the City’s website and at the Office of the City Clerk. Bids will be due no later than\n10:30 a.m. on November 7, 2024 in the office of the City Clerk and will be publicly opened\nat 11:00 a.m. that same day.\nRecommended Action: City Council reject the bids received in response to Notice\nInviting Bids N2M24-89 for the Design and Purchase of Alhambra Placemaking Signage;\nauthorize a new Notice Inviting Bids for the Design and Purchase of Alhambra\nPlacemaking Signage (N2M24-117); and, direct staff to undertake the steps necessary to\nfinalize the Council’s action.
