RESOLUTION EXTENDING THE CITY OF ALHAMBRA’S OFFICIAL WELCOME AND\nGREETINGS TO THE HONORABLE SHINICHI NAKASHIGE, MAYOR, AND\nMUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT DELEGATION OF KIRISHIMA CITY – SISTER CITY TO\nTHE CITY OF ALHAMBRA – F2M7-80, R2M24-43\nIn 2007, at the initiative of former Councilmember Gary Yamauchi, the City of Alhambra\nestablished a Sister City relationship between the City of Alhambra and Kirishima City,\nJapan. At the July 22, 2024 City Council meeting, Councilmember Maloney requested the\nCouncil’s support to bring forward a resolution to officially welcome current Mayor of\nKirishima City, the Honorable Shinichi Nakashige, and the Municipal Government\nDelegation from Kirishima City who will be visiting the City of Alhambra on October 25,\n2024. This resolution is intended to extend the City’s official welcome and greetings to the\ndelegation from Kirishima City.\nRecommended Action: City Council adopt Resolution No. R2M24-43 entitled: A\nResolution of the Alhambra City Council extending the City of Alhambra’s Official\nWelcome and Greetings to the Honorable Shinichi Nakashige, Mayor, and Municipal\nGovernment Delegation of Kirishima City – Sister City to the City of Alhambra
