12B. APPROPRIATION FOR REPAIR OF WESTERLY END STANTON PARK PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE\nThe westerly end pedestrian bridge at Stanton Park has been damaged and unusable\nsince June 2023. Council will consider approving an appropriation of $250,000 from the\nFiscal Year 2024-25 General Fund Special Projects for its repair.\nRECOMMENDED ACTION:\n1. City Council find that this item is not subject to California Environmental Quality Act\n(“CEQA”) pursuant to Sections 15378(b)(5)(Organizational or administrative activities\nor governments that will not result in direct or indirect physical changes in the\nenvironment); and\n2. Approve the filing of a claim through the California Joint Powers Insurance Authority\n(CJPIA) and an appropriation of $250,000 from the Fiscal Year 2024-25 General Fund\nSpecial Projects for the deductible for the repair of the Stanton Park Pedestrian\nBridge; and\n3. Approve the addition of three existing pedestrian bridges located at Stanton Park to\nthe City’s facilities insurance provided through the CJPIA at an annual premium\namount of $3,017 (to be prorated for the remainder of the year); and\n4. Direct staff to include any future City bridges on the City’s facilities insurance.\nSeptember 24, 2024
