CONSIDERATION AND APPROVAL OF RESOLUTION NO. 24-226,\nAPPROVING COST OF LIVING ADJUSTMENTS FOR JOB\nCLASSIFICATIONS NOT SUBJECT TO A MEMORANDUM OF\nUNDERSTANDING\nInflation affects the cost of living for employees. Most government\nagencies, including federal, states, counties, and others, such as\npensions, recognize this economic reality and provide cost of living\nadjustments (COLAs) for their employees. For retirees, Social Security\nand CalPers provide COLAs so that retirees can also retain their\npurchasing power as inflation increases.\nRECOMMENDED ACTION: Staff recommends City Council adopt\nResolution No. 24-226, approving cost of living adjustments of 5% for the\nCity’s executive and part-time non-represented employees for FY 2024-25,\nFY 2025-26, and FY 2026-27.
