D. POLICE DEPARTMENT PURCHASE OF AN UNMARKED POLICE VEHICLE IN \nTHE AMOUNT OF $62,078.10 UTILIZING AIR QUALITY MANAGEMENT \nDISTRICT (AQMD) FUNDS \nAn unmarked administrative police vehicle (2016 Ford Explorer Interceptor) is \npast its useful life as it has over 160,0000 miles and exhibits significant \nmechanical and reliability issues. The unit has been budgeted for replacement \n4 \nin Fiscal Year 2024-2025 utilizing AQMD funding. This police unit qualifies as a \n“Clean Air Vehicle” since staff opted to purchase the hybrid variant of the 2025 \nFord Explorer Interceptor. There is no impact to the general fund. AQMD funds \nin the amount of $62,078.10 will be utilized for the replacement of the \nadministrative police vehicle. The adopted 2024-2025 budget appropriated \n$70,000 in the Police Department’s Special Project Fund account #124-751-51-\n99-201. \nCalifornia Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Determination: Not a Project as \ndefined in Section 15378 of the State CEQA Guidelines. \nRecommended Action: \nStaff recommends that the City Council authorize the Police Chief to purchase \nthe vehicle as listed in the quotation for an amount not to exceed $62,078.10.
