2. ZONE TEXT AMENDMENT TO ADOPT NEW POLICIES, REGULATIONS, AND\nDEFINITIONS FOR STUDIO AND MICRO-UNITS IN THE CITY OF WEST HOLLYWOOD\n[N. MARICICH, F. CONTRERAS, T, FARRIS, J. HITTLEMAN]:\nSUBJECT: The City Council will consider a proposed Zone Text Amendment to amend\nTITLE 19, Zoning Ordinance of the West Hollywood Municipal Code, to adopt new policies,\nregulations, development standards, and definitions for studio and micro-units. The proposed\nZone Text Amendment is categorically exempt from the provisions of the California\nEnvironmental Quality Act (CEQA), pursuant to Section 15061(b)(3) (Common Sense\nExemption).\nRECOMMENDATIONS: Staff recommends that the City Council hold a public hearing,\nconsider all pertinent testimony, and 1) Introduce on first reading Ordinance No. 24-_______:\n“AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST HOLLYWOOD\nADOPTING AMENDMENTS TO TITLE 19, ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE WEST\nHOLLYWOOD MUNICIPAL CODE, TO ADOPT NEW DEFINITIONS AND STANDARDS\nREGULATING STUDIO UNITS AND MICRO-UNITS AND FINDING THE ACTION EXEMPT\nFROM CEQA;” and 2) Direct staff to further study the required parking for micro-units to\ndetermine whether less parking can be required in light of applicable State and code\nrequirements (AB 2097, etc.) and process a Zone Text Amendment if needed.
