7. SECURITY SERVICES CONTRACT FOR THE SANTA CLARITA PUBLIC\nLIBRARY - This item considers awarding a contract for the purposes of security\nservices for the Santa Clarita Public Library.\nRECOMMENDED ACTION:\nCity Council:\n1. Award a two-year contract to Good Guard Security, Inc. to provide unarmed security\nguard services for the Santa Clarita Public Library in the amount of $227,155 and\nauthorize a contingency of $22,716, for a total not to exceed annual amount of\n$249,871.\n2. Authorize the City Manager or designee to execute up to three additional one-year\nrenewal options beginning in year three, not to exceed the annual contract amount,\ninclusive of contingency, plus an adjustment consistent with the appropriate\nConsumer Price Index, upon request of the contractor, and contingent upon the\nappropriation of funds by the City Council in the annual budget for such fiscal year.\n3. Authorize a one-time appropriation of $87,655 in the current fiscal year and an\nongoing increase in Fiscal Year 2025-2026 of $116,871 from the Public Library Fund\nBalance (Fund 309) to expenditure account 3097412-516101.\n4. Authorize the City Manager or designee to execute all contracts and associated\ndocuments, subject to City Attorney approval.
