J. Request For All Way Stop at Jackson Avenue and Garvalia Avenue\nAt the July 11, 2024, Traffic Commission Meeting, staff presented\nrecommendations and options for traffic improvements at Jackson Avenue and\nGarvalia Avenue. After discussion and presentation of the item, the Traffic\nCommission approved the staff recommendations. Public Works Field Services\nstaff will complete all the recommended items. If necessary, additional materials\nand supplies may be purchased at a minimal expense to complete the recommended\nwork and staff would utilize approved Fiscal Year 2024- 2025 Traffic Signs and\nMarkers available funds.\nRecommendation: That the City Council approve the following Traffic Commission\nrecommendations\n1. INSTALL " TRAFFIC DOES NOT STOP" PLAQUE: Install " Traffic Does Not\nStop" plaque beneath stop signage located along both directions of Garvalia\nAvenue, at the intersection with Jackson Avenue.\n2. INSTALL RED REFLECTIVE STRIP: Install red reflective strip on the\nexisting Stop signpost located along both directions of Garvalia Avenue, at the\nintersection with Jackson Avenue.\n3. INSTALL ADDITIONAL RED CURB AT NORTHWEST CORNER ON\nJACKSON AVENUE: Install 10- 11 of additional red curb at the northwest\ncorner of the intersection along Jackson Avenue at Garvalia Avenue, for atotal\nof 20- ft of red curb. Install additional red curb along Jackson Avenue, to improve\nline -of -sight for vehicles turning from Garvalia Avenue.\n4. INSTALL ADDITIONAL RED CURB AT SOUTHEAST CORNER ON\nJACKSON AVENUE: Install 10- ft of additional red curb at the southeast corner\nof the intersection along Jackson Avenue at Garvalia Avenue, for atotal of 20- ft\nof red curb. Install additional red curb along Jackson Avenue, to improve line -of -\nsight for vehicles turning from Garvalia Avenue.\n11\n5. REMOVE AND REPLACE SCHOOL SPEED LIMIT SIGN WITH NEW\nSCHOOL ZONE SIGN: Remove and Replace School Speed Limit Sign with New\nSchool Zone Signage ( SW24- 1 ( CA)) along Jackson Avenue for northbound traffic,\napproximately 120- feet south of the intersection of Jackson Avenue and Fern Avenue
