8. APPROVE RECEIPT OF A GRANT AWARD FROM THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY\nFISCAL YEAR 2023 ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTERS GRANT PROGRAM AND APPROPRIATE FUNDS IN\nFISCAL YEAR 2024-25\nRECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Council:\n1. Approve appropriation of $281,818 awarded to the City by the Federal Emergency Mangement Agency\n(FEMA), Fiscal Year 2023 Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program; and,\n2. Amend the Fiscal Year 2024-25 budget by increasing appropriations by $281,818 in Account No. 265-\n85-857-6010.10 (Grants, Fire, Assistance to Firefighters Grant, Machinery and Equipment\n[expenditures]) and $281,818 in Account No. 265-99-4198.20 (Grants, Miscellaneous Grants, Assistance\nto Firefighter Grant Program [revenue]); and,\n3. Amend the Fiscal Year 2024-25 budget by increasing appropriations by $28,182 Account No. 100-85-\n860-6010.60 (Fire, Fire Suppression, Personal Protective Equipment) to meet the ten percent (10%)\nmatching requirements of the grant; and,\n4. Take such additional, related action that may be desirable.
