G. PURCHASE OF AIR RESPIRATORS FROM MALLORY SAFETY AND SUPPLY\nUNDER 2022 STATE HOMELAND SECURITY GRANT PROGRAM IN THE\nAMOUNT OF $51,390.06\nThe San Gabriel Police Department was awarded a grant from the 2022 State\nHomeland Security Program (SHSP) in the amount of $51,363 dedicated to the\nprocurement of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). Due to an urgent need and\npriority to replace the current aging air respirators, staff is seeking to utilize this\nfunding towards the purchase of sixty-five air respirators to enhance the safety\nof our Police Officers. The initial outlay of $51,363 for the air respirators will be\nfully funded by the 2022 SHSP grant award. The remaining balance of $27.06\nwill come out of the Department’s budget. The deadline to use these funds is\nFebruary 2025 and will be reimbursed within 120 days of the submission of a\nreimbursement request.\nCalifornia Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Determination: Not a Project as\ndefined in Section 15378 of the State CEQA Guidelines.\nRecommended Action:\nStaff recommends that the City Council authorize the City Manager to purchase\n65 air respirators equipment using the allocated State Homeland Security\nProgram grant funding.
