7. 2025 ARTS GRANT FUNDING RECOMMENDATIONS – ARTS PROJECT;\nCOMMUNITY ARTS; TRANSGENDER, GENDER DIVERSE, INTERSEX ARTS;\nWEHO ARTISTS; AND 40th ANNIVERSARY CULTURAL HISTORY GRANTS [L.\nBIERY, R. EHEMANN, E. ANGELOFF]\nSUBJECT: The City Council will consider ratifying the recommendations of the Arts and\nCultural Affairs Commission for funding the 2025 Arts Grant Program – Arts Project;\nCommunity Arts; Transgender, Gender Diverse, Intersex Arts; WeHo Artists; and 40th\nAnniversary Cultural History Grants.\nRECOMMENDATIONS: 1) Approve recommendations of the Arts and Cultural Affairs\nCommission to award Arts Project Grants totaling $42,200 at various funding amounts\nto five (5) nonprofit arts organizations as outlined in this staff report; 2) Approve\nrecommendations of the Arts and Cultural Affairs Commission to award Community Arts\nGrants totaling $36,000 at various funding amounts to seven (7) applicants as outlined\nin this staff report; 3) Approve recommendations of the Arts and Cultural Affairs\nCommission to award Transgender, Gender Diverse, Intersex Arts Grants totaling\n$30,000 at various funding amounts to five (5) applicants as outlined in this staff report;\n4) Approve recommendations of the Arts and Cultural Affairs Commission to award\nWeHo Artists Grants totaling $24,000 to four (4) individual applicants, resident artists as\noutlined in this staff report; 5) Approve recommendations of the Arts and Cultural Affairs\nCommission to award 40th Anniversary Cultural History Arts Grants totaling $40,000 at\nvarious funding amounts to seven (7) applicants as outlined in this staff report; 6)\nApprove approximately $14,560 in waived fees for city facility use fees and parking fees;\n7) Authorize the use of city facilities for performances and presentations by grantees in\nfulfillment of their Art Grant projects and an additional hour of validated parking for event\nparticipants at the West Hollywood Park 5-Story parking structure, for a total of three (3)\nhours, for grant funded events scheduled for the Council Chambers which exceed two\n(2) hours; and 8) Allow grantees to charge admission, accept donations, and sell\nmerchandise to offset production costs for performances or projects.\nCity Council Agenda\nNovember 4, 2024\nPage 6
