15. CONSIDERATION OF AN AWARD OF A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT WITH MONET\nCONSTRUCTION, INC. IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $ 2,112,000 FOR THE\nGREVELIA AND BERKSHIRE POCKET PARKS PROJECT AND AN ADDITIONAL\nBUDGET APPROPRIATION OF $543,930 FOR CONSTRUCTION AND PROJECT\nCONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT; AND APPROVE THE PLANS AND\nSPECIFICATIONS FOR THE PROJECT\nRecommendation\nIt is recommended that the City Council consider:\n1. Approving the plans and specifications for the Grevelia and Berkshire Pocket Parks\nProject (Project); and\n2. Approving a categorical exemption from CEQA for the Project, pursuant to Section\n15332 of the State CEQA Guidelines — Class 32, In-Fill Development Projects; and\n3. Appropriating an additional $543,930 to the Grevelia and Berkshire Pocket Parks\nProject, utilizing $100,000 from Park Impact Fees Fund 275 and $443,930 from\nGeneral Fund 101, increasing the budget from $1,768,070 to $2,312,000, including\na construction contract of $2,112,000 and additional construction management\nfunding of $200,000, given current inadequate City staffing resources to support the\nProject; and\n4. Awarding a construction contract to Monet Construction, Inc . for construction\nservices for park improvements in an amount not to exceed $2,112,000.00,\n5\nincluding the proposed bid amount of $1,836,528.80 and a 15% contingency of\n$275,471.20; and\n5. Reject all other bids received; and\n6. Authorize the City Manager to execute the contract .
