4M. AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY (OTS)\nFOR THE SELECTIVE TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM (STEP) GRANT\nAuthorize the Police Department to receive grant funding for STEP enforcement\noperations. The proposed agreement is in the amount of $180,000 and will fully\nreimburse STEP program-related activities.\n— Recommended Action: 1) Approve an agreement with the State of California Office\nof Traffic Safety (OTS) for the Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Grant\n(PT25003); 2) Authorize the City Manager and City Attorney to make any necessary,\nnon-monetary changes to the agreement; 3) Ratify the Finance Director, Traffic\nSergeant, and Traffic Lieutenant's execution of the agreement; 4) Authorize the\nPolice Chief to execute all other necessary grant documents; and, 5) Approve a\nbudget appropriation in the amount of $180,000 for this purpose.
