6.1 Amendment to Ordinance and Resolution Related to Oral Communications at City Council Meetings. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the Mayor and City Council: A. Consider the request to change the order and format of Oral Communications; and AUGUST 16, 2023 B. Provide direction regarding introduction of an Ordinance for first reading entitled, “AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WESTMINSTER, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTION 2.04.040 (MEETINGS- DISCUSSIONS-REFERRAL TO DEPARTMENTS) OF THE WESTMINSTER MUNICIPAL CODE RELATIVE TO ORAL COMMUNICATIONS AT COUNCIL MEETINGS,” read by title only and waive further reading; and C. Provide direction regarding adoption of a Resolution entitled, “A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WESTMINSTER, CALIFORNIA, RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 5061 TO REESTABLISH THE ORDER OF BUSINESS TO BE FOLLOWED IN REGULAR MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL.”
