4.7. CITY COUNCIL DEFERRED COMPENSATION BENEFIT Recommended Action: Adopt a Resolution directing monthly benefit allowances for Council Members to be equal to the cash-in-lieu health benefit available to City employees and reduce that amount by the minimum contribution required pursuant to Government Code section 22892(b)(1) for any City Council member that participates in a City offered health insurance plan pursuant to the Public Employees’ Medical and Hospital Care Act (PEMHCA).
