CREATION AND FUNDING OF AN EMERGENCY OPERATIONS COORDINATOR/PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICER POSITION The Public Safety Committee Recommendation The Public Safety Committee recommends that the City Council direct staff to initiate a timely process to create and fund an Emergency Operations Coordinator/Public Information Officer position prior to next year’s budget process. Staff Recommendation Accept the Public Safety Committee’s recommendation that an Emergency Operations Coordinator/Public Information Officer position be created, but direct that staff present a decision package during next year's proposed budget for further Council review and action.
