5-C. EMERGENCY REPLACEMENT OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT SELF-CONTAINED BREATHING APPARATUS (SCBAS) – ADOPT A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE NECESSARY AGREEMENTS, WITHOUT THE NEED FOR COMPETITIVE BIDDING TO PURCHASE THE SCBA REPLACEMENTS It is recommended that the City Council consider: (1) Adopt a resolution ratifying the City Manager’s proclamation of local emergency dated December 11, 2024 concerning the replacement of Fire Department Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (“SCBAs”) and authorizing the City Manager to execute necessary Agreements, without the need for competitive bidding to purchase the SCBA replacements; (2) Appropriating $635,000 to the FY 2024-2025 Budget from the General Fund for the project; and (3) Taking such additional, related, action that may be desirable.
