(16) 26-0337 ARTS, PARKS, AND CITY FACILITIES COMMITTEE REPORT relative to a breakdown of investment in boys’ and girls’ sports, the number of contracted sports organizations catering to boys versus girls, and an overview of the formal process for groups to apply for and secure field space. Recommendation for Council action, pursuant to Motion (Padilla - Hutt): REQUEST the Department of Recreation and Parks to report to Council with a detailed breakdown of investment in boys’ sports compared to girls’ sports, the number of contracted sports organizations catering to boys versus those catering to girls; and, an overview of the formal process for groups to apply for and secure field space, with a specific focus on addressing the "waitlist" system. Fiscal Impact Statement: Neither the City Administrative Officer nor the Chief Legislative Analyst has completed a financial analysis of this report.
