3-F. NATIONAL POLICE WEEK RESOLUTION\nIt is recommended that the City Council consider:\n(1) Adopting a Resolution declaring the week of May 15-21, 2023, to be National Police Week\nin the City of Monterey Park; and\n(2) Taking such additional, related, action that may be desirable.

PUBLIC WORKS WEEK AND LOGO RESOLUTION\nIt is recommended that the City Council consider:\n(1) Adopting a Resolution declaring the week of May 21 through 27, 2023 as Public Works\nWeek in Monterey Park;\n(2) Adopting a Resolution adopting a Public Works logo to be used by the Public Works\nDepartment for official purposes; and\n(3) Taking such additional, related, action that may be desirable.

TREE MEMORIAL PROGRAM RECOMMENDATION FOR FRED SORNOSO\nIt is recommended that the City Council consider:\n(1) Authorizing the City Manager to take actions needed to honor former Mayor Pro Tem Fred\nSornoso with a memorial tree; and\n(2) Taking such additional, related, action that may be desirable.

CALIFORNIA ENERGY COMMISSION CALIFORNIA AUTOMATED PERMIT PROCESSING\n(CALAPP) PROGRAM GRANT\nIt is recommended that the City Council consider:\n(1) Adopting a resolution retroactively authorizing the City Manager, or designee, to apply for,\nreceive, and appropriate grant funds for the California Energy Commission’s California\nAutomated Permit Processing (CalAPP) Program Grant; and\n(2) Taking such additional, related, action that may be desirable.

HSIP CYCLE 9 GARFIELD AVENUE TRAFFIC SIGNAL IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT –\nAWARD OF CONTRACT\nIt is recommended that the City Council consider:\n(1) Authorizing the City Manager to execute a public works contract, in a form approved by\nthe City Attorney, with PTM General Engineering Services, Inc. of Riverside in the contract\namount of $428,028 for the HSIP Cycle 9 Garfield Avenue Traffic Signal Improvements,\nSpecification No. 2022-016;\n(2) Authorizing the Director of Public Works to approve change orders and contingency up to\n$37,572, or 9% of the contract amount; and\n(3) Taking such additional, related, action that may be desirable.\nCEQA (California Environmental Quality Act):\nThe proposed project is categorically exempt from the requirements of the California\nEnvironmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to 14 California Code of Regulations §15301 as a\nClass 1 categorical exemption (Existing Facilities). The project results in minor alterations to\nexisting public facilities involving no significant expansion of the existing use. The Project is not\nanticipated to have any significant impacts with regards to traffic, noise, air quality or water\nquality.

5-A. REAPPOINTMENT TO THE LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES\nIt is recommended that the City Council consider:\n(1) Whether to reappoint one incumbent Library Board Trustee for a second term;\n(2) Taking such additional, related, action that may be desirable.

A RESOLUTION DECLARING MAY 6, 2023 THE DAY OF INCLUSION OF THE 141ST\nANNIVERSARY OF THE PASSAGE OF THE CHINESE EXCLUSION ACT AND\nRECOGNIZING AND HONORING THE MONTH OF MAY 2023 AS ASIAN AMERICAN AND\nPACIFIC ISLANDER HERITAGE MONTH (REQUESTED BY COUNCIL MEMBER LO)\nIt is recommended that the City Council consider:\n(1) Adopting a resolution declaring May 6, 2023 the Day of Inclusion of the 141st anniversary\nof the passage of the Chinese Exclusion Act and recognizing and honoring the month of\nMay 2023 as Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month; and\n(2) Taking such additional, related, action that may be desirable.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MONTEREY PARK DECLARING\nMAY 18, 2023 AS NATIONAL ASIAN AMERICAN AND PACIFIC ISLANDER DAY AGAINST\nBULLYING AND HATE (REQUESTED BY MAYOR PRO TEM WONG)\nIt is recommended that the City Council consider:\n(1) Adopting a resolution declaring May 18, 2023 as National Asian American and Pacific\nIslander Day Against Bullying and Hate; and\n(2) Taking such additional, related, action that may be desirable.
