The\nproposed ordinance would repeal South El Monte Municipal Code Title 2,\nChapter 2.52,"Traffic Commission."\nRECOMMENDED ACTION: Staff recommends City Council:\n1. Waive second reading and adopt Ordinance No. 1269 to repeal Title 2,\nChapter 2.52 "Traffic Commission."

DISCUSSION AND DIRECTION CONCERNING SIDEWALK VENDOR\nLAWS AND POTENTIAL NEW REGULATIONS\nThe City Attorney’s Office and City staff are presenting this item to the City\nCouncil so that the Council can review and discuss potential\nimprovements to the regulations for sidewalk vendors in the City. South El\nMonte Municipal Code (“SEMMC”) Chapter 5.09, “Sidewalk Vending,” is\nlimited by recent state laws protecting sidewalk vendors. This staff report\ndiscusses potential amendments to Chapter 5.09 that could be brought\nback as an amended ordinance for first reading at a future city council\nmeeting.\nRECOMMENDED ACTION: Staff recommends City Council review and\ndiscuss existing regulations for sidewalk vendors under SEMMC Chapter\n5.09, “Sidewalk Vending,” summarized in this report. Consider suggested\namendments to Chapter 5.09. Provide direction to staff regarding these\nsuggested amendments and/or provide alternative direction.\nGENERAL BUSINESS (CONTINUED)

Adopt Resolution No. 23-101, in support of the lawsuit filed by twelve\ncities against the LA Superior Court zero-bail policy.
