11J. CONSIDERATION OF A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO ENTER INTO A REGIONAL CONTRACT BETWEEN THE SOUTH ORANGE COUNTY WASTEWATER AUTHORITY (SOCWA), NORTHSTAR CHEMICAL, INC., AND SOCWA ENTITIES FOR SUPPLY OF SODIUM HYDROXIDE TO THE WATER RECLAMATION PLANT FOR WASTEWATER TREATMENT Staff Recommendation Adopt Resolution No. 25-93, which will: 1. Authorize the City to enter into the regional contract with South Orange County Wastewater Authority (SOCWA), NorthStar Chemical, Inc., and South Orange County Wastewater Authority (SOCWA) entities for a one-year term for the supply of Sodium Hydroxide to the City’s Water Reclamation Plant. 2. Approve, and authorize the City Manager to execute, Contract No. C25- 34, by and between the City of San Clemente and South Orange County Wastewater Authority (SOCWA), NorthStar Chemical, Inc., and South Orange County Wastewater Authority (SOCWA) entities providing for the supply of Sodium Hydroxide to the City’s Water Reclamation Plant, in an amount not to exceed $37,320 for the initial one-year term. 3. Authorize the Public Works Director/City Engineer to approve up to three one-year renewals to the contract for amounts not to exceed the approved budget amounts for this chemical in each appropriate fiscal year.
