(67) 25-0002-S132 CONSIDERATION OF RESOLUTION (YAROSLAVSKY - PARK) relative to establishing the City's position on Senate Bill (SB) 1301 (Allen) which would require insurers to provide policyholders with a detailed explanation of the grounds for any changes. Recommendation for Council action, pursuant to Resolution (Yaroslavsky - Park), SUBJECT TO THE CONCURRENCE OF THE MAYOR: RESOLVE to include in the City’s 2025-26 State Legislative Program SUPPORT for SB 1301 (Allen), which would require an insurer that refuses to renew a policy or imposes an elimination of coverage to provide the policyholder with a detailed, plain-language explanation of the grounds for the changes; require, if an insurer finds that a policy does not meet its underwriting guidelines due to a condition that can be remediated by the policyholder, to provide a policyholder 90 days to perform the necessary remediation; and make other related changes. Fiscal Impact Statement: None submitted by the Chief Legislative Analyst. The City Administrative Officer has not completed a financial analysis of this report.
