(63) 25-0002-S141 CONSIDERATION OF RESOLUTION (HERNANDEZ - JURADO) relative to establishing the City's position on Assembly Bill (AB) 2465 will ensure that California public funds do not subsidize corporations or businesses that profit from private detention facilities or immigration enforcement contracts. Recommendation for Council action, pursuant to Resolution (Hernandez - Jurado), SUBJECT TO THE CONCURRENCE OF THE MAYOR: RESOLVE to include in the City’s 2025-26 State Legislative Program SUPPORT for AB 2465 (Ortega) to prohibit companies that invest in, own, manage, or operate private detention facilities, or contract with agencies that engage in immigration enforcement activities from receiving taxpayer-funded benefits, subsidies, grants, loans, or tax credits from the State of California. Fiscal Impact Statement: None submitted by the Chief Legislative Analyst. The City Administrative Officer has not completed a financial analysis of this report.
